A GoFundMe Appeal has been raised for a mum of Nigerian origin based in the USA who passed away on Mother’s Day. It was raised to help her son bury her back home in Nigeria.
Part of the GoFundMe stated “With a heavy heart, I reach out to you today to ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time. My mother, Elizabeth Ogbueze, passed away on Mother’s Day after a courageous battle to recover from recurrent strokes. As I come to terms with the loss of my mom, I am faced with the daunting task of arranging her burial. I am her only child and only relative living in California, so in this moment I am truly in need of support.
She fought hard to recover from three strokes while battling diabetes, arthritis, and early onset dementia. For the past several years, I have been her full time caregiver and we have faced these difficulties side by side. After suffering her first stroke in 2022, she required assistance with daily functions like showering, eating, taking medications, moving in and out of bed, and more. Because she has required such a high level of care the past two years, I have not been able to work full time and save money to prepare for a moment like this.”
