Diaspora Insurance CEO, Jeff Madzingo’s success story is one that evokes determination and focus; showing that with the right mindset, success is achievable. Madzingo was born and bred in Gutu rural located in Masvingo province, Zimbabwe. After completing his studies, he worked as a banker before moving to the UK for a post graduate programme on a British Council scholarship.

After completing his post graduate studies he could not secure a job in the banking sector and found himself working as a security guard to make ends meet. Madzingo narrated his journey in a keynote speech at the recently held Zimbabwe Achievers Awards headline sponsored by Diaspora Insurance. “I used my security guard time to study”, he said, holding a blue jacket emblazoned ‘The Watch Security’, his uniform over a decade ago. Eventually he got professional qualifications in mortgages and insurance and started a business which helped thousands of diasporans buy their first homes while others were able to establish property portfolios of their own.
