As Diaspora Insurance continues to expand its footprint across the United States of America, the organisation has intensified its efforts to connect with and support the African diaspora community. This commitment was highlighted at the 2025 Ubuntu Gala in Dallas where Diaspora Insurance proudly served as one of the main sponsors. By supporting this premier cultural and fundraising event, the company reaffirmed its mission to uplift African families abroad, build stronger communities, and promote the values that unite Africans worldwide.
Hosted annually by The African Think Tank (TATT), the event celebrates the diversity and resilience of Africans in the diaspora and this year event was held on November 15, 2025, at Ruthe Jackson Centre in Grand Prairie, Dallas.

Diaspora Insurance: Carrying the Ubuntu Spirit Beyond Borders
Represented by Dr Sibert Mandega, Executive Director, and Ms Margaret Kiarie, US-based Sales Executive, Diaspora Insurance’s involvement went far beyond financial support. It embodied the very essence of Ubuntu, the guiding philosophy of the evening.
Their presence emphasised the organisation’s alignment with the five Ubuntu principles : humanity, caring, sharing, respect, and compassion.
Dr Mandega highlighted the company’s alignment with the core values of the gala.
“At the heart of Diaspora Insurance’s philosophy are the five Ubuntu principles,” he shared. “Through our work, we care for the African community both here in the diaspora and back home. Ubuntu is not just a theme for us. it is who we are.”
For years, Diaspora Insurance has stood as a pillar of reliability, offering timely and compassionate financial support to thousands of bereaved families during their most difficult moments. Today, the company serves 25 African nationalities across the globe, treating clients from diverse cultures with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Their sponsorship of the Ubuntu Gala reflects a broader, ongoing investment in the African community. Diaspora Insurance continues to support and empower Africans worldwide through its backing of music concerts, cultural festivals, professional conferences, community fundraisers, and church conventions.
A Gala Rich in Culture, Memory, and Celebration
This year’s gala welcomed a colourful and diverse crowd representing countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, DRC, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Chad, Ethiopia, and many friends of Africa.
A breathtaking fashion show set the tone for the evening, featuring elegant African-inspired designs for both men and women. Traditional drums, music, and dance later filled the room with electrifying energy.The celebration continued with a culinary journey featuring mouth-watering dishes from across the continent.

A Moving Keynote and the Lighting of the Ubuntu Altar
The gala’s keynote address, delivered by Professor Clarence E. Glover, Jr., honoured the resilience of Africans who endured the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
He offered a powerful tribute to the millions of Africans who endured the horrific trans-Atlantic slave trade. Professor Glover went on to inaugurate the Ubuntu Altar, lighting five candles symbolising the Ubuntu Principles: humanity, caring, sharing, respect and compassion.The symbolism resonated deeply with Diaspora Insurance’s mission, reinforcing the powerful synergy between the organisation and the purpose of the gala.
The African Think Tank (TATT): Driving Diaspora Empowerment
Founded by Dr Sidonie Niba, TATT has grown into a major community-focused organisation with over five chapters across the United States. Its programs uplift the African diaspora through entrepreneurship development, mentorship, career advancement, education, and advocacy for policies that empower African families abroad. Over the past two years, TATT has supported more than 85 African-owned small businesses in the U.S.
This year’s Gala successfully raised US$25,000, to support its ongoing initiatives for African diaspora communities.
