UNITED STATES: A Kenyan family has called on well-wishers to help raise funds to repatriate the body of their loved one who died in Dallas.
Ian Wachira, a truck driver, was found dead in his truck in Dallas, Texas, on January 2.
“We are calling on friends and well-wishers for prayers and to support repatriating Ian’s body back to Kenya, Nyeri in Mathira,” the appeal reads in part.
Dallas fundraising committee chairman Wilfred Tinega said that they would fly the late Wachira to Kenya once they raised enough funds.
“So far, so good, but I can’t say at the moment when that will be, as you know it’s very expensive to transport the body to Kenya,” he said.
Wachira has two surviving siblings: Rachel Wachira, who is in Kenya, and Esther Nyambura, who is based in Germany.

He also had a cousin called Lorna Wachira, based in the US.
