UK: FAMILY and friends of the late Zanele Sibanda have launched a GoFundMe appeal to help raise some £12,000 needed for the repatriation of her body to South Africa.
Zanele was stabbed to death in Gloucester in the South West of England last week Tuesday.
Gloucestershire Police were called to a street junction in Tredworth, Gloucester, at about 01.45 BST on the tragic night after reports that a woman had sustained suspected stab wounds.
Zanele was pronounced dead at the scene and, Tanaka Zivania, 32, of Dora Walk in Gloucester, has since been arrested and charged with murder.
Difa Dube, who is organising the GoFundMe appeal said, “As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we are faced with the heart-wrenching task of repatriating Zanele’s body to South Africa, where her family and loved ones are awaiting her return.
“The cost of repatriation and funeral arrangements is significant, and we are reaching out to our community for support.”
The appeal continued, “We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to help raise the £12,000 needed to bring Zanele back to South Africa and give her the dignified farewell she deserves.
“We kindly ask for any contributions you can make, no matter how small, to help us in this difficult time. Your generosity will not only help us cover the costs but will also offer a semblance of comfort to her grieving family.”
