The 6th edition of the annual Ghana Music Awards UK has been held, cementing some artists’ positions in the music industry at home and abroad.
The event occurred on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Plush Royal Regency, 501 High Street St, London, E12 6TH, sponsored by Diaspora Insurance.
The Awards Night saw some 43 artists walk home as winners of the various categories.
The audience was treated to spectacular performances from Diana Hamilton, Joyce Blessing, MOG, Bright of BUK BAK fame, Sefa, Nana Essi, and others.
The highest winner for the night was Black Sherif, with three wins; Artiste of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Hiplife/Hip Hop song of the Year.
The Business Development Manager of Diaspora Insurance, Ghana Corridor, presented an Award on the Night. Mr Yalley Presented the UK Based Best Collaboration of the Year Award, and the Winner was MAKOSA – DJ NORE FT EUGY & QUAMINA MP.
Sarkodie, Akwaboah, Mona4Reall, Diana Hamilton, Camidoh, and Sefa, among others, walked home with awards.
Mr Reginald Yaw Asante Osei was Popularly known in the Music Industry as Reggie Rockstone. The grand Papa was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his immeasurable contribution to the Ghanaian Music Industry and as the originator of the Hiplife Song Genre in Ghana.
