Help us raise funds to repatriate Tashinga Mhonde’s body from Washington, DC (USA) to Harare, Zimbabwe.
An international student from Zimbabwe, studying a Master’s in Big Data Analytics at Bay Atlantic University in Washington DC. Academically gifted, Tashi graduated with a Bachelor of Energy Systems Engineering from Bahçeşehir University in Turkey in 2018. He was a former president of the Bau International Student Committee and ambassador to Africa at Bay Atlantic University.
Tashi suddenly passed, on Sunday 16 October, due to a sudden illness causing a heart attack and damage to 99% of his brain. Unfortunately, this caused a coma and Tashi was on a life support machine and never woke up.
He was destined to do great things, an extroverted and intelligent young man. He was born a natural leader and was always compassionate, kind, hilarious and loving to the people around him.
Tashi lived in Washington since 2019. He was away from home (Zimbabwe) with no immediate family nearby, and it has been a difficult process to organise to get his body transported back home (to Zimbabwe). His father had unfortunately passed away 4 years earlier on October 6.
Our hearts are heavy with grief and any financial donation would mean a lot to us. We are hoping to raise as much as we can to assist with this process. Overall, US$20,000 – US$25,000 is required, however, any contribution is greatly appreciated.
All donations will be sent directly to Tashi’s aunty (Catherine Munyanyiwa (nee Mhonde)), in Melbourne, Australia and they will be delegated accordingly to assist in bringing Tashi’s body back home.
