GoFundMe appeal for care worker who died in Scotland

By Diaspora Insurance News

A GoFundMe appeal has been launched for a Zimbabwean care worker who died in Scotland earlier this month.

Angela Mungondori had barely been in the United Kingdom for a year when she died aged 30 on July 13.

The appeal seeks to raise some £8,000 to repatriate her body back to Zimbabwe.

“She (Angela) came to the UK in October 2023 and lived in Scotland on a care visa,” said her sister Hariet Mungondori in a social media post.

“On Saturday 13 July, I received a phone call that she had passed on in the early hours of the morning.

“She was not ill but just started struggling to breath and was taken to hospital (where) they tried resuscitating her for a hour but to no avail.

“She has left behind 10 year old child .The police are investigating the matter and a postmortem is yet to be done by next week.”

As of Monday this week, the appeal had raised £2,000 against the target of £8,000. Contributions can be made to bank account number 32425868 and sort code 77-21-06.
