We have started this fundraiser to support our beloved friend, daughter, and sister, Michelle Kaondera, who passed away in Poland after fighting a deadly disease.
Michelle was a 22 year old, second year medical student studying at the Medical University of Lodz in Poland. Anyone who has crossed paths with her knows how intelligent, hard-working, loving, and kind-hearted she was. Being a cancer survivor, Michelle was determined to become an Oncologist one day, and with the support of her family, she decided to pursue her medical dream.
When all her friends were leaving Poland to return home for vacation in July, she stayed back to do her summer placement. During this time, Michelle felt sick and was taken to a hospital in Poland where she was treated for one month before passing away. Michelle’s only goal this year was to pass all the courses without retakes so that she could go home to see her family in August after three long years. Being the bright student she is, she worked day and night to achieve her goal and passed all her courses with excellent grades. Before getting to reunite with her family, she passed away in Poland and left us all devastated.
Her death was unexpected, and during this very difficult time, her family and friends would appreciate some financial assistance in bringing her body back to her home in Zimbabwe from Poland. There are a lot of expenses that need to be met, such as hospital bills, transportation and other funeral costs. We would appreciate from the bottom of our hearts any small donation that can be made.
