HARARE: Diaspora Insurance has promised greater commitment to its clients in 2024 after the company’s CEO Jeff Madzingo, scooped the award for best financial and insurance services in the diaspora.
Held at Harare’s grand Meikles Hotel and organised by the Zimbabwe in Diaspora Organisation (ZIDO), the awards acknowledged outstanding contributions by the Zimbabwean diaspora community.
And for Diaspora Insurance, the Harare gong was the second major award this year after it was also named company of the year at the African Women in Europe annual summit in Brussels, Belgium.
Based in Birmingham, UK, Diaspora Insurance specialises in designing, marketing and distribution of insurance products and risk management solutions targeted at expatriates and diasporans.
The company now covers 13 African diaspora nationalities across the UK, Europe, the Americas and Australasia.
Executive director, Dr Sibert Mandega who received the award, said the honour signifies not only the company’s commercial success but also its commitment to providing excellent financial and insurance services to diasporians.
“We are really excited as Diaspora Insurance because we have been nominated for the best company; best financial and insurance services in the diaspora,” said Dr Mandega in an interview.
“We are really excited because we won the top spot as a company that does really well in providing financial services in diaspora.”

He added; “This award means a lot to us as a company because it’s a recognition of the hard work we are doing in the diaspora, providing excellent services to our clients it also shows that we as a company we are dedicated to our clients.
“It also gives us the energy to do even more in 2024 in terms of providing excellent services to our clients.”
Dr Mandega also paid tribute to the company’s staff for their tireless efforts in putting Diaspora Insurance on the international map.
“I also want to acknowledge our team who work tirelessly to provide excellent services to our team,” he said.
“If it wasn’t for our team in customer services, sales, business development and marketing we would not be here.
“We would not be able to win the award; but (we are here) because of their dedication and because of their hard work.
“That hard work has been recognized by this organization and also it shows our commitment to the communities that we serve.”
The group’s global insurance solutions have enabled diasporans and expatriates to only to cover themselves but also their families in their countries of origin.
