A UK-BASED family has launched a GoFundMe appeal to help raise some £15,000 for the funeral of their mother who succumbed to cancer at the beginning of October.
Jessica Asante, who is organising this fundraiser, said her of her late mother; “To me and everyone who knew her, my mother was truly an angel on earth. She had the most loving, nurturing spirit and didn’t have a single bad bone in her body.
“She was pure love—a woman who always put others before herself, never complained, and gave everything she had to those in need.
“She lived by the words of Christ, constantly caring for others, whether it was her family, friends, or strangers. Her kindness knew no limits, and her heart was open to anyone who needed help.”
Asante revealed that her mother was diagnosed with salivary gland cancer in September last year with doctors saying she would not live long as it was incurable.
“We were told it was incurable, and over the months, the cancer spread to her lungs, causing severe breathing problems. Despite this grim diagnosis, she continued to fight with unwavering faith.
“In December, doctors told us she would not make it much longer, but my mother’s incredible strength and belief in God carried her through, allowing us to share more precious months together.”
After fighting courageously for a year, Asante said her mother, “passed away peacefully in her sleep, holding the hands of my sister and our pastor, with the word of God guiding her home.
“Though we are devastated by her loss, we take comfort in knowing she was surrounded by love, exactly as she lived her life.”
She had moved to the UK from Zimbabwe in the 1980s and worked “tirelessly to create a stable and loving environment” for her family.
“But her acts of selflessness didn’t stop at home,” said Asante.
“She dedicated her life to serving others through her missionary work — feeding the homeless, providing school supplies and clothing to orphans around the world, and always being there for those who needed comfort or guidance.
“Her selfless spirit touched countless lives, and her faith in God inspired all who knew her.”
As of Tuesday this week, the GoFundMe appeal had raised about £3,500 against the £15,000 target.
