According to family members, Netsai Tswakanyi – a mother of two boys – became ill just two months after arriving in Ireland. “Before settling in, she suddenly became very ill and she was hospitalised for a few days but sadly passed away on the 21st of July 2023,” wrote Xolelani Chimwaza on the GoFundMe website. Fatuma Musanzu Thoya, a 36-years-old single mother of five, who was hospitalised and undergoing chemotherapy in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, became stranded when her residence permit expired.
