Dr Mapfumo who is a leading exponent of traditional music has been living in Oregon, USA since 2002. He has a rich music catalogue dating back as far as the 1960s and a deep connection with his African roots and global fanbase. With several accolades under his belt, Mapfumo is also affectionately known as ‘The Lion Of Zimbabwe’ because of the influence his music wields. In 2001 he received an Honorary Doctorate in Music from Ohio University, Athens.
Dr Mapfumo will help market the Diaspora Insurance brand and spearhead future campaigns. The long term agreement will see the company partnering with Mapfumo in future projects which will be announced in due course.
