Extending Compassion Beyond Borders: Diaspora Insurance Supports Communities in The Gambia
By Diaspora Insurance News
At Diaspora Insurance, social responsibility is more than a principle; it is a commitment expressed through meaningful action.
As part of its annual humanitarian outreach, the company extended vital support to vulnerable communities in The Gambia, reinforcing its mission to create positive impact beyond borders.
Through its Christmas Giving Back initiative, Abdullah Aid in The Gambia was one of the beneficiaries among 11 charities across Africa. The initiative aimed to support vulnerable individuals during the festive season, a period when access to essential food supplies is particularly critical for many families.
In partnership with Abdullah Aid, Diaspora Insurance donated the equivalent of 90 bags of rice to the people of Brikama Manduar, a region home to underprivileged communities.

Speaking on the initiative, a representative of Diaspora Insurance and media personnel at Smile Media, Rohey Konateh, stated:
“At Diaspora Insurance, we believe in standing with communities during moments that matter most. This donation reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and sharing hope during the festive season,” she said.
The distribution was carried out directly within the community to ensure the assistance reached those most in need. The effort highlights the company’s hands-on approach to corporate social responsibility and its dedication to making a tangible difference in Africa.
Abdullah Aid Director, Alhaji Ousman Kinteh, also emphasized the importance of the partnership, saying:
“I am the director of Abdullah Aid, The Gambia. We have been working in The Gambia for the past eight years, running various projects for underprivileged communities, including orphans. We also empower women and young women, operate feeding projects, and work with young people to hone and train skills,” he said.

Kinteh further thanked Diaspora Insurance for their timely support:
“Collaborations like this enable us to reach more families and provide timely support. The Gambia is a third-world country where many people struggle to buy a bag of rice. The cost is too high for certain families, yet rice is our staple food. We are grateful to Diaspora Insurance for trusting us to help deliver this assistance to the people of Brikama Manduar. These bags of rice will go a long way in cushioning hunger and supporting families. I sincerely thank Diaspora Insurance for supporting us at such a crucial time. Thank you very much.”
This initiative forms part of Diaspora Insurance’s long-standing tradition of supporting underserved communities across different parts of the world. By working with trusted humanitarian partners, the company continues to ensure transparency, accountability, and lasting impact in its outreach efforts.

Reflecting on the broader mission, Diaspora Insurance Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Madzingo, said the initiative was aimed at bringing smiles to people across the 25 countries where the company operates in Africa.
“Our goal is not only to provide insurance solutions, but also to contribute positively to the well-being of communities wherever we operate. Giving back remains a core part of who we are.”
Madzingo added, “As Diaspora Insurance continues to grow, it remains steadfast in its commitment to social responsibility
At Diaspora Insurance, we see corporate responsibility as an extension of our purpose. Beyond providing insurance services, we are committed to investing in the dignity, resilience, and future of the communities we serve across Africa and the diaspora.”
