The role works closely with external accountants and the South Africa office to ensure timely month-end close processes, accurate financial records, group reporting, and high-quality financial analysis to support business decision making.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Reporting and Accounting
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Prepare general ledger journals in Sage Intacct for non-cash transactions, including depreciation, accruals, provisions, prepayments, and deferred tax adjustments.

  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis on profit and loss statements and provide explanations for significant movements.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports, analysis, and management information to support operational and strategic decision-making. Assist management with financial insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
Compliance and External Liaison
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal finance policies.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and relevant stakeholders where required.
Systems and Process Improvement
  • Support system enhancements and the effective utilisation of Sage Intacct.
  • Review finance processes and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls, efficiency, and reporting accuracy.
  • Assist in implementing process automation and standardisation initiatives where applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification or progress towards qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, SAICA or equivalent) will be advantageous.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.

Overseeing the end-to-end process of country marketing campaigns, from planning and execution to analysis and optimisation.Job Duties:  Ensuring that Country marketing materials are created and adopted for different markets and languages, while maintaining brand consistency.  Developing and implementing strategies for developing marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, email, social media and print, across Australia and New Zealand.  Ensuring that all marketing materials and campaigns are approved by compliance and marketing departments  Working with Regional/State Coordinators and Sales Executives to ensure smooth campaign execution.  Tracking the performance of campaigns, identifying areas of improvement and reporting key metrics.  Developing and implementing best practices for the Australia campaign activation, ensuring efficiency and scalability.  Continuously improving processes for campaign and lead management, ensuring operational efficiency.  Ensuring that all touch points with customers are seamless and consistent, working closely with the marketing department.  Acting as a liaison between clients, service providers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and address client concerns  Assisting with administrative tasks, such as coordinating with partners and stakeholders in Australia and providing updates to company directors.  Hiring, training, and managing Regional Coordinators and Sales Executives to ensure they are performing their duties effectively and adhering to company policies.  Company asset management, including all marketing collateral printing and distribution, like banners and the rest of the merchandise, where stock control and tracking are critical  Able to prioritise work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.  Process and maintain contracts and reporting skills for the sales team.  Coordinate problem resolution with appropriate departments.  Resolve/follow up on customer concerns on a timely basis to ensure customer satisfaction.  Maintain and prepare reports for each state as required by management and agents.  Develop in-depth knowledge of products, pricing, packaging, delivery and contract arrangements.  Some travel may be required. Other duties as assigned.  Essential to work in a Team atmosphere.Education and Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in marketing/business studies or recognisable commercial degree along with two (2) years of sales/customer service or equivalent education and experience.  Outstanding written / verbal communication and computer skills. Including but not limited to Microsoft Office 365, Excel skills a plus, along with any previous experience with ERP systems.  Able to meet tight deadlines and follow up on commitments.  Coordinate marketing efforts in assigned international markets, including tradeshows, trade missions, and brand development.What We Offer:

  • Support the planning and execution of company-hosted and sponsored events across the UK and internationally.
  • Conceptualize and implement community engagement events at the company’s Birmingham HQ to enhance the brand’s outreach and presence in target diaspora communities.
  • Attend community, cultural, and networking events to represent the brand professionally.
  • Coordinate logistics including venue setup, collateral, merchandise, transport, and post-event reporting.
  • Liaise with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure smooth event delivery.
PR and Media
  • Assist the PR & Media Manager in developing and implementing media and public relations campaigns.
  • Capture and create compelling media content during events (interviews, photos, video snippets).
  • Support press release writing, blog content creation, and internal communications as required.
  • Maintain and update the media asset library with properly catalogued footage and visuals.
Photography & Videography
  • Capture high-quality photos and videos during events, office visits, and campaign shoots.
  • Edit media content for social media, website, press use, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Ensure branding and messaging consistency in all visual outputs.
Travel & Representation
  • Travel across the UK (and occasionally internationally) for events, shoots, and coverage.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador and uphold the values and image of Diaspora Insurance in public settings.
Key Skills & Requirements
  • Proven experience in event planning, media coordination, and/or public relations.
  • Proficiency in photography and videography – with demonstrable editing skills using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom, Canva, or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Confident and engaging public presence with interpersonal skills suited for community-facing roles.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends depending on event schedules.
  • Full and valid UK driving license (essential).
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a passion for community engagement and storytelling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Public Relations, Media, Communications, Events Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working in multicultural environments or with diaspora communities is a distinct advantage.
