Before our creation in 2012 there was little to no support for the extremely unpredictable and unusual lives of the Diaspora community. As Diasporans ourselves we understood that there was a huge gap in the insurance market for us individuals who have moved from our native countries to seek a different adventure and therefore took matters into our own hands to try and support our community.
The past 13 years servicing the Diasporan/expatriate communities have been extremely difficult but unbelievably rewarding and we most certainly would not change any of it for the world.
As Diasporans we understand that success does not come without great sacrifice and struggles.
Being able to support and secure our communities’ lives over the past 13 years has been one of the most rewarding and touching feelings you could imagine. We have helped over [Insert number of people and families helped] different individuals and families to secure their future and know that if the worst was to happen that we at Diaspora Community would have them covered.

In celebration of our 10 year anniversary legendary musician, proud diasporan and new brand ambassador Thomas Mapfumo visited the Diaspora Insurance offices. Dr Mapfumo will help market the Diaspora Insurance brand and spearhead future campaigns. The long term agreement will see the company partnering with Mapfumo in future projects which will be announced in due course.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr Mapfumo said: “It is very important for one to be a member of Diaspora Insurance and I am grateful for the opportunity to be the company’s brand ambassador.
The second launch was held at Stellar Entertainment Studios, Bedfordshire, England on Saturday, March 26. Empress Trisha and Belinda hosted the event, attended by Diaspora Insurance CEO Jeff Madzingo, Y2K Entertainment Promotions directors Fred Matenga and Alex Marapara with DJ Ansy on the decks.
As the company continues to grow, Diaspora Insurance is proud to announce US-based Chimurenga music icon, Dr. Thomas ‘Mukanya’ Mapfumo as the face of the brand. Dr. Mapfumo who is a leading exponent of traditional music has been living in Oregon, USA since 2002. He has a rich music catalogue dating back as far as the 1960s and a deep connection with his African roots and global fanbase.
To date, Diaspora insurance has paid out over US$3 million cash in settled funeral claims to diasporans from Botswana, ESwatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
